Application

How do you go about selecting applications? What is important to you?
At our company, applications are reviewed by both HR and the relevant departments. It's best to put yourself in their shoes. It is important to us that your resume is clearly structured so that we can quickly grasp and understand all the important information.

What your resume should include: Educational background, career stages with the most important milestones or projects achieved, language skills incl. level, and an overview of your technical knowledge.

If you have other relevant documents on hand, such as (work) references, certificates, etc., please feel free to include them.

Do I need a cover letter or a letter of motivation?
Your resume is all we need to successfully process your application.

If you would like to provide us with important information beyond your resume, please feel free to do so in a cover letter.

How do I apply?
Once you have found an interesting open position, use the digital application form on our career page to send us your documents. When attaching files, we ask you not to choose zip or other packaged formats, but the usual formats such as .pdf or .jpg.

Which language should I submit my application in?
In principle, you can submit your application in either German or English.

Our company language is English. However, you will find some positions (especially in customer-facing roles) where German is a key qualification. For these positions, it would helpful to send us your documents in German. However, if you only have English documents available, you do not need to translate them for us.

I have not recieved a submission confirmation for my application - what now?
Each application triggers an automatic submission confirmation. You will receive this from the E-Mail address career@cplace.com.

If you have not received a confirmation, please check your spam folder. If you have a GMX, web.de or yahoo mailbox, our mails often end up in the spam folder.

Or maybe your mailbox is full or you mistyped your email address in the application form. If this is the case, please contact us directly via career@cplace.com.

What exactly are the steps in the application process?
Typically, our process involves two to three rounds of interviews. The exact procedure will be shared with you in depth during your first video call via Zoom. Depending on the position, a case study may be part of your selection process, enabling you to present your professional skills to us.

Later in the process, an interview will take place at one of our office locations. This way you get the chance to meet your potential team and other colleagues, all while getting a taste of cplace :-)

Can I also submit an unsolicited application?
Generally, you can find all our vacant positions on our careers page. If we don't have the right position for you, we would also be happy to receive your unsolicited application.

IMPORTANT: For every unsolicited application, a cover letter is required that clearly describes the position/role you are interested in and why you want to work at cplace

Interview

How do I prepare for a video interview?
For video calls we use the software "Zoom". In the invitation email you will find all the information regarding the date, time and participants of the call as well as the link to connect to the call.

Hints:
- Please test the link, your camera and the microphone beforehand to avoid technical problems during the interview.
- Ensure a stable internet connection for the interview.
- Avoid sitting in front of a window, as the bright light from behind will make your face appear particularly dark and we will have difficulty recognizing you.

When communicating in German, does cplace use "Sie" or "Du"?
When communicating in German, we communicate "per du".

How should I dress for an interview?
We don't have an official dress code at cplace. Just come as you feel comfortable - given the occasion.

Are case studies (or something similar) part of the application process?
Depending on the role, applicants receive case studies, code reviews or smaller tasks to work on. We will inform you about this well in advance during the interview process.
